FORT MYERS, Fla. -- A Lee County woman has entered a guilty plea for her role with two other men in the murder of a Buckingham man in July 2016.
According to the 20th Circuit Court of Florida, 18-year-old Lavaya May entered a guilty plea to 2nd-degree murder and has been sentenced to just over 20 years in prison.
Back in 2016, then-16-year-old Lavaya May, along with Johnathan Ruffini and Hunter Tyson, were arrested after 58-year-old Ted Lee was murdered at his Buckingham home and later had his body dumped in Manatee County.
The trio was later apprehended in Kansas and returned to Lee County.
Tyson was sentenced to 40 years in prison in June 2017 after pleading guilty to 2nd-Degree Murder, Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Conspiracy to Commit Murder.
Ruffini is serving 25 years in prison for his role in the murder.
