FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - A teen attempted to start a riot on Fort Myers Beach late Thursday night. Another teen went as far as to jump onto the hood of a Lee County Sheriff Deputy's cruiser.

"There was a mob of kids coming down the beach like the Walking Dead. They were carrying a boom box above their head," Jennifer Keough said. "At first, it was really cool like a mob flash, but then they started jumping on police cars," she added.

Deputies arrested Lawrence Powell when he jumped on the cruiser. He caused nearly a thousand dollars worth of damage to the cruiser. Deputies also arrested Marquez Ballin for his part in the chaos. He was charged with attempting to incite a riot.

"He was running back and forth down the beach and everyone was following him," Noah Pequignit said.

4 In Your Corner got the video that was posted on social media of what took place along Estero Boulevard.

4 In Your Corner obtained exclusive surveillance video from Yo! Taco. The video showed a young man chased outside the restaurant from several different vantage points.

"I was always raised not to make silly decisions that would impact the rest of my life," Royce Smith said.

Deputies then tried to make sure they kept the crowds of people away from the chaos.

"We all have fun. We've all been there. We've all done crazy things. You want to be able to reel it in," Seth Lajoi said. "Have fun without causing damage," he added.
