CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. — Deputies say one person was arrested after a shooting investigation in the 21000 block of Glendale Avenue in Port Charlotte.

Ralph Marok was taken to the Charlotte County Jail after first being taken to an area hospital for a mental evaluation.

The shooting happened Wednesday morning near Glendale Avenue and Midway Boulevard.

Investigators said callers to 911 reported hearing a man screaming as he ran between homes in the area.

19 shell casings of two different calibers were found between the two homes involved. Both homes suffered damage from the gunshots. One bullet struck the bedroom window of a home where a resident was asleep. No injuries were reported.

The sheriff's office says more firearms have been removed from Marok's home as the investigation continues.
