The State Attorney’s Office has filed a Notice of Intent to Seek the Death Penalty against Ja’Quan Bernard Robinson.

Robinson, 24, of Lehigh Acres, was indicted by the Lee County Grand Jury in December for first-degree Murder, a capital felony; burglary with assault or battery, a punishable by life felony; and violation of an injunction, a misdemeanor.

Robinson is accused of murdering a woman in her Fort Myers home in October. He is also accused of committing a burglary by unlawfully entering the home and violating an injunction of protection that was in place for a member of the victim’s family. The Fort Myers Police Department was the investigating agency.

Assistant State Attorneys Sara Miller and Audra Thomas-Eth are prosecuting the case.
