FORT MYERS, Fla. -- People in the panhandle are in need of a lot of things in the wake of Hurricane Michael, and a Southwest Florida food bank wants to help.
Midwest Food Bank, along with the Freedom Tour, will send a load of supplies to the panhandle this weekend. The load will include generators, food, water, and other items.
The executive director says right now it's about helping people recover. “This is about neighbors helping neighbors. Our neighbors to the north were negatively impacted by a major storm. And so it’s just a wonderful thing to see people step up and really help out their neighbors.”
If you would like to help out, you can drop off donations at their warehouse at 5601 Division Drive in Fort Myers on Friday from 8am to 4pm, or on Saturday from 9am to 2pm.

Another Southwest Florida organization, the Harry Chapin Food Bank, is also sending supplies. They sent a box truck with supplies and a mobile food bank to the panhandle on Friday morning.
