LEHIGH ACRES, Fla— A homeowner says a nightlight in his daughter’s bedroom started a small fire early Wednesday morning.
Fire crews responded to the house on 29th Street Southwest. The small fire spread to a mattress in the room, which burned. Firefighters say when the arrived there was a lot of smoke inside the home.
The homeowner tells our crew that his nephew and himself tried to put out the fire while his wife called 911. The family was able to evacuate and no one was hurt.
