COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. - Nearly 80 kids from 4 different elementary schools in Collier County got an early Christmas present.

The Collier County Sheriff's Office and the Jewish Federation sponsored the 4th annual "Shop with a Sheriff."

Deputies paired up with a child and helped them fill out a gift list for their families and friends. Each child had 100 dollars to spend.

"I have to tell you, just watching them touches my heart, and everyone I tell about this, and the stories that I know about the kids, what they help to get for their families," said Jewish Federation CEO Jeffrey Feld.

Collier County Sheriff Kevin Rambosk says the event is a chance for his deputies to forge an invaluable bond with these children.

"This is one of the most fun events that they have an opportunity to participate in. Every time we put out a request for assistance we always fill it right up."

If you want to make a donation for next year's shop with a sheriff you can call the Jewish Federation at 239-263-4205.
