COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Collier County Deputies arrested a suspect connected to a hit and run accident Saturday.
Deputies say they found a car matching the description of the hit and run vehicle from an accident that happened Friday night. Investigators say a pedestrian sustained injuries as a result of the crash.
Collier County Deputies say the pedestrian was taken to the hospital as a trauma alert. Deputies describe the car as a red 2012 Toyota Camry with front end damage on the front bumper, had a shattered front windshield covered by a black blanket, and was missing a windshield wiper blade.
Deputies say a broken windshield wiper blade from the scene of the crash matched the suspect's vehicle. Authorities arrested Wistom Rafael Solanocastro in connection to the crash. Troopers say Castro told them he believed he hit a trash can and did not get out the car.
Castro was taken to Collier County Jail.
