BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. – In an update to a story we first told you about Thursday, investigators say someone broke into the Bonita Springs home where an infamous murder took place.

Detectives say crooks removed several items from the Sievers home sometime this month.  It's the second burglary in less than two months at the Jarvis Road home where Dr. Teresa Sievers was found murdered in 2015.

According to a Lee County Sheriff's Report, a representative for Mark Sievers was called to the home on July 11 after a report of an open door at the home.

That representative met with the cleaning lady, who had last been at the home on July 6th.

It was determined that sometime between July 6th and 12th, various items had been removed from the home or moved within the house.

Among the items reported missing were:

  • Computer printer
  • Office computer
  • Red tool bag
  • Toys and board games
  • Framed magazine article and photo of Teresa Sievers
  • Box of nude photos and sex toys

Investigators say Mark Sievers hired Jimmy Rodgers and Curtis Wright to murder his wife inside that home for life insurance money in June 2015. She was found beat to death by a hammer inside the home.

Mark Sievers and Jimmy Rodgers are both charged with first degree murder and face the death penalty if convicted.

Curtis Wright is serving a 25 year sentence after pleading guilty to second degree murder.

The Sievers children are in the custody of family members.
