NORTH PORT, Fla. -- A convicted sex offender is in custody again after recent accusations he acted inappropriately with children at a pool.

41-year-old Timothy Rice turned himself in to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office on Monday and was charged with a Sex Offender Violation of Loitering within 300 Feet of Children.

According to a North Port Police incident report, residents in The Woodlands at Cedar Grove complained in November that Rice and a woman were seen at the community pool, and that Rice brought pool toys to play with the children swimming there.

Rice, a former lifeguard, was convicted of Sexual Battery with Victim Under 12 Years Old at an apartment complex pool in Hillsborough County in 1999 and again in 2000.

He was also arrested in Charlotte County on March 22nd for playing with children and allegedly inappropriately grabbing them at an Englewood public pool. He was released on bond the next day in that case.

Rice now remains in custody in the Sarasota County Jail on no bond.
