UPDATE 10 PM

An active shooter alert triggered a massive deputy response to the David Lawrence Center.

Collier County Sheriff's Office received several 911 calls of an active shooter on campus at around 5 p.m. Tuesday.

Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said multiple employees called 911 saying they got a phone alert of an active shooter on campus.

Deputies immediately responded to the scene.

The threat turned out to be a false alarm. However, the sheriff's office said they take these situations very seriously.

Deputies searched the entire campus twice to make sure everything was safe and secure.

The sheriff's office is continuing to investigate the incident and working to find out how the alert system was triggered.

Sheriff Rambosk said active shooter training from both employees and first responders helped significantly in the swift response.

"What occurred today is exactly what were asking of all our community to let us know as quickly as possible because the quicker we respond, the quicker we can intervene". said Sheriff Rambosk.

Deputies found no suspect and no victims.
