CAPE CORAL, Fla. — Cape Coral hosted its first Pride Celebration on Saturday.
Co-organizer AJ Ford says the city needed representation of the LGBTQ community.
“There is no pride. We of Cape Coral have never had a pride,” Ford said.
Owner of Cashanti in Fort Myers Zachari Vandyne says this was a big step for Cape Coral.
“It’s amazing to celebrate love. It’s amazing to celebrate family. It’s amazing to celebrate coming together,” Vandyne said.
The event went until Sunday, April 7.
