President Trump travels to SWFL to meet with Hurricane Irma victims

FORT MYERS, Fla-- President Trump is expected to visit SWFL on Thursday to meet with Hurricane Irma victims. It's going to be a quick trip as Air Force One will land around 10:30 and take off from RSW around 2:00 p.m. to head back to Washington, D.C.

A spokesperson from RSW said people trying to catch a flight Thursday should allow plenty of time to get to their gate. The airport is currently running at 75% after the hurricane impacted airport staff and airlines.

The president is expected to land at RSW around 10:40 a.m. Upon arrive Trump will receive a briefing on Irma relief efforts before heading to the Naples area to meet with hurricane victims. Trump will then make his way back to RSW to head back to DC around 1:15 p.m.

An airport spokesperson said the airport is used to serving high level officials. However, with the president's visit area residents can expect minor delays in the surrounding area just outside the airport as he makes his way down to Collier county.

Vice President Mike Pence is expected to visit the area alongside President Trump.
