PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- A Port Charlotte home was destroyed by fire overnight, according to fire officials.
Charlotte County Fire & EMS says several fire units responded to a home in the 1300 block of Kensington Street in Port Charlotte early Thursday morning, and found the fire fully involved with flames coming through the roof.
No people or pets were in the home at the time of the fire, but the home is considered a total loss.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
