CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. -- Deputies are searching for a suspect in residential burglaries overnight in a Punta Gorda community.

The burglaries were interrupted at 1:41 am Tuesday in the Heritage Landing community off Burnt Store Road north of Zemel Road. During a routine patrol of a residential neighborhood, Charlotte County Deputies noticed a U-Haul truck parked at an unoccupied residence.

An officer walked up to the residence and observed a woman exiting the rear of the residence.

Two other suspects were observed by Aviation on foot. A third suspect fled.

Police were able to arrest Maria Cruz, 31 and Yohander Romero-Pedroso, 40 who attempted to hide in a ditch near the scene.

The third suspect, identified as Alexander Santiesteban, 39, has not been located.  Santiesteban is a heavy-set Hispanic male and was last seen wearing black shorts, a blue shirt, green sneakers, and a blue hat.

Detectives believe he may be headed to the Bradenton area.
