The recent shootings in Fort Myers are connected, police say.
Fort Myers Police Chief Diggs spoke at a city council meeting Thursday night, where he spoke about the uptick in violence throughout the community.
Two people died on Tuesday night after a shooting in the parking lot of Bell Tower Shops, police say. One person was injured Wednesday morning after a shooting in the Dunbar.
Two people died Wednesday night during a shooting at the Sungold Plaza.
“There is connectivity there, this is not random. The safety of the public, the general public is not at issue here,” Chief Diggs said.
Chief Diggs also said the department will bring in extra people for the investigation.
