LEE COUNTY, Fla. — A check of personnel records at the Lee County Sheriff's Office shows Phillip Seeley was repeatedly praised as a "great" employee during his time as a communications technician.
Seeley is accused of secretly recording someone in 2019 without the person's knowledge.
Seeley was fired by the Sheriff's Office.
One of the reviews said, "Phillip understands the laws and rules of the agency and follows them all," adding that he was always "very helpful."
In one review, his supervisor wrote, "Phillip would make a great supervisor one day."
Payroll records show Seeley was making just under $53,000 a year when the allegations surfaced.
The arrest warrant says 6 electronic devices were among the pieces of evidence collected by the investigators.
The warrant concludes, in part, "Phillip Seeley intentionally used or installed an imaging device to secretly record the victim for his amusement, entertainment, sexual arousal or gratification, and while doing so, the victim was thereby recorded at a time when the victim (was) dressing, undressing, and privately exposed her body/sexual organs. At the place and time when the victim was recorded, she had a reasonable expectation of privacy and the recording of the victim was without the knowledge and consent of the victim..."
The arrest report says when detectives contacted Seeley last month to interview him, he said he would first need to speak with his attorney.
The arrest report says the attorney later told investigators Seeley would not be giving a statement to detectives at that time.
His next court date is scheduled for mid-March
