North Port plans rally to welcome Braves for first full spring training

NORTH PORT, Fla. -- The Atlanta Braves made a brief appearance at CoolToday Park in North Port during the 2019 spring training season. Now the city is set to welcome to the team for their first full spring training in town.

The City of North Port is hosting "The Big Rally" on Saturday, February 15th from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on the City Center Front Green on City Hall Boulevard.

Fans will be able to hone their skills at the inflatable tomahawk throw and pitching station, hit a home run at the Spring Training Experience for kids, listen to live music, scout out the food and beverage vendors, and cheer for their favorite doxie at the Wiener Dog races.

All admission, parking, and activities are free.

Braves pitchers and catchers report February 12 and their first workout will be the following day. Position players report on February 17, and the first full-squad workout set for the next day.

The Braves open their first full 33-game Grapefruit League season at Cool Today with the Baltimore Orioles visiting February 22.
