COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. -- We're learning more about a murder arrest of a North Naples woman on Wednesday.

According to a Collier County Sheriff's report, 35-year-old Amanda Cook has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder in the death of her roommate.

Deputies responded to a residence on Imperial Golf Course Boulevard early Wednesday morning and found a 64-year-old woman dead on the floor.

Cook claimed that the woman had tripped over a speaker and fell to the floor.

However, the medical examiner says the victim had blunt force trauma that is not consistent with a fall to the floor. Detectives recovered an item in the home that had blood on it and was shaped consistent with the victim's wounds. It was found away from the alleged scene of the fall, and not in a position to have caused injury during a fall.

Cook was taken to the Naples Jail Center.
