With a large population of veterans in Southwest Florida, Lee County deputies are reminding you what to do if you find any military property.

Deputies say you should call your local law enforcement department.

Recently, a solid waste facility was shut down because a World War II mortar was found inside. When the bomb squad arrived, they learned it was inactive.

Because it was a piece of history, the mortar is now in the Southwest Florida military museum in Cape Coral.
