Man arrested in Cape Coral stabbing

CAPE CORAL, Fla. — UPDATE (2/17/21)-- According to court records, Kai Jarek Perkins Waters and the victim were fighting over a cell phone.

Perkins-Waters accused the victim of taking his phone because he did not have the funds for marijuana.

Records show that Perkins-Waters went to the victim's house several times prior to the stabbing.

Perkins-Waters went through the Lani of the victim’s house and demanded his phone one more time, allegedly punching the victim in his face.

A fight ensued between the victim and Waters.

Both the victim and Perkins-Waters ended up at the hospital with stab wounds.

Kai Jarek Waters was charged with First Degree Burglary with Assault or Battery.

A man has been arrested in a stabbing situation that happened in Cape Coral earlier this week.

It happened around 8:20 p.m. on February 10 on NW 18th Street.

Cape Coral Police say there was an on-going feud between Kai Jarek Perkins-Waters and a victim, another man. They say Perkins-Waters entered the lanai area of the victim's residence with an intention to fight. They say during the fight the man took out a knife and stabbed Perkins-Waters. They say a third man attempted to break up the fight and was injured. All three men were taken to the hospital for treatment.

During the investigation, Major Crimes Detectives got a search warrant for Perkins-Waters.

He was charged with burglary with battery Saturday and is in custody at the Lee County Jail.
