CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla — Florida Highway Patrol says they have arrested a man for leaving the scene of a crash in Charlotte County that left a man in serious condition.
It happened on Sunday at the intersection of US-41 and Edgewater Drive.
Troopers say a 65-year-old man was in a sedan southbound on US-41 at the intersection of Edgewater Drive.
They say a 63-year-old man from Venice was walking from east to west across the southbound lanes of US-41 at that intersection.
The driver of the sedan ended up hitting the pedestrian and the driver drove away, troopers say.
The pedestrian was taken to the hospital.
Investigators say he was later located at his home and arrested for leaving the scene with injuries.
