NAPLES, Fla. — One local organization is making sure kids of all ages in Collier County receive a bicycle.

Cycling is a great form of exercise which can help childhood obesity and even help you live longer.

Many families can't afford to buy a bicycle for their children.

“It was 1950 and I was 8 years old and it was Thanksgiving, my dad says we are better off than a lot of people, maybe it’s time we give something back, can you think of something? I said hey dad bikes! The next day we went to the junkyard and picked two families. We brought them back to the barn and made them like new” Skip Riffle, Bikes for Tykes Founder.

Bikes for Tykes got its official start in Naples back in 1987 and it’s still going strong today.

Their missing is to empower children, fight against childhood obesity and help our environment.
