Libraries hosting Eclipse events and giving away glasses, education kits

Lee and Collier libraries are giving away free eclipse glasses and education kits in order for the public to view a solar eclipse happening August 21.

A total eclipse of the Sun will be visible in the continental United States from Oregon to South Carolina. 

The rest of the United States and other parts of North and Central America will see a partial eclipse. A partial eclipse is dangerous to look at without something to protect your eyes from the Sun’s damaging rays.
