LEE COUNTY, Fla.- If you were to become face to face with an attacker, would you know how to defend yourself? Members of the Lee County Sheriff's Office Crime Prevention Unit will be holding self-defense awareness and familiarization exchange (S.A.F.E.) classes for mothers, daughters, and women of all ages beginning September first.

Members of the Crime Prevention Unit said escaping and surviving an assault is 90% mental preparedness and only 10% physical preparedness.

The S.A.F.E. classes are two hours each and will go over personal safety information, basic physical techniques, a variety of options and common-sense strategies.

Registration is full for the first class in September, but they will offer more in the upcoming months. For a link to the Sheriff's Office calendar, click here.
