LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Multiple law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation at the Bonita Springs offices of Bruno Total Home Performance.

Investigators from the state Attorney General, Lee County Sheriff's Office, and Cape Coral Police convened at their office on South Cargo Court Tuesday morning. That's in an industrial park off Race Track Road.

Officers removed several boxes of items from the offices and were also searching through a Bruno Air work van. The items were placed in a Cape Coral Police forensics van.

Bonita resident Ann Carini, who said she was a Bruno customer, said she has had bad experiences with the company when she hired them for some heating and cooling work. "They went in the attic and started tearing out our ductwork, and told us it was covered with mildew and mold," Carini said. "There was no sign of mildew or mold on it."

She said that not only was the extensive duct work not needed, but that the salesperson for Bruno overstepped his bounds. "He used my Social Security number to call a finance company without my knowledge," Carini said. "Now this company is telling us that I owe them ten thousand dollars, because they have already paid Bruno."
