IMMOKALEE, Fla. -- Deputies arrested an Immokalee man Wednesday evening after witnesses say he intentionally crashed into another vehicle.

32-year-old Hugo Meteo-Mendez is charged with Criminal Mischief and Hit and Run.

According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office, the victim says he was driving north on S. 9th Street approaching Main Street when he noticed the driver behind him acting impatient, honking the horn and using foul language toward him.

The victim pulled into a business parking lot to allow the driver to pass, but the rear of his vehicle was struck by the suspect, Mateo-Mendez. Witnesses say that Mateo-Mendez started to leave the scene, but then circled the business and crashed in to the victim again.

Deputies saw Mateo-Mendez attempting to leave the scene and stopped him.

As of Friday morning, Mateo-Mendez remained in the Collier County Jail.
