CAPE CORAL, Fla -- Many are asking the age old question: How early is too early to decorate for the holidays? In fact, the latest Google results show there have been more than half-a-billion searches for that very question.

The answer seems to be earlier and earlier for many this year amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

One of the most impressive Southwest Florida displays is nearly complete this year. The gigantic Planet Monkman Chirstmasin Cape Coral is a local tradition going on 14 years.

And while the magical display is always up long before Thanksgiving, health experts have said many others are spreading holiday cheer earlier this year, too. They said it's because of the stresses that have come with the pandemic.

According to a study published by BMJ, visual representations of holiday cheer can cause our brain to experience “increased activation.” When it comes to decorating your home, health experts tell the Los Angeles Times that the reaction could be even stronger.
