BONITA SPRINGS, Fla — The community held a special tribute on the anniversary of 9-11.

Firefighter recruits at Braxton College honored first responders who were lost 19 years ago.

They also used the event to raise money for the two young daughters of Bonita Springs firefighter Marc Weiss who recently died from pancreatic cancer. He was 49 years-old,.

The recruits and others who participated were in full gear as they went up and down the stairs in the tower at the Bonita Springs Fire Training Center - to simulate the 110 stories 9-11 first responders went up to save those trapped in the twin towers on that day in 2001.
