High speed chase ends in crash on Pine Ridge Road

A 22-year-old Estero man was arrested afters leading deputies on a high speed chase and crashing into a fence, according to Collier County Sheriff's Office reports.

Benjamin Borchmann was caught driving recklessly Friday night on Collier Boulevard South.

Deputies say Benjamin made a right turn off Pine Ridge Road and was caught fishtailing. He then continued down Collier Boulevard at a high rate of speed. Deputies say they activated their lights and followed Benjamin traveling at 106 mph.

The car continued fueling until it went off the road and crashes into a fence.

A deputy held Benjamin at gunpoint until backup arrived on scene.

He was transported to Physicians Regional Medical Center and treated for his injures. After being released he was arrested and charged with Fleeing and Eluding.
