SANIBEL, Fla. — The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission say they are actively investigating a boating accident with injuries near Periwinkle Way in Sanibel.
FWC says they received a call from the Lee County Sheriff's Office Sunday morning about a single vessel boat accident with injuries. FWC, Sanibel Police, and Lee County EMS all responded to the scene.
Authorities say one adult female had several lacerations and was airlifted to Lee Memorial Hospital with serious injuries. Investigators say at the time of the incident, there were five people on board, four of which were uninjured.
