UPDATE (6:05 AM)-- A Sergeant with FMPD has confirmed a black Honda Civic ran a stop sign at Katherine Street and fled.
The vehicle was found abandoned near Nelson Street and Linhart Avenue.
The driver was not found.
The investigation continues.

Fort Myers Police are working on a hit and run crash involving a box truck.
The southbound lane of Fowler Street is currently shutdown.
The accident happened on Fowler and Katherine street.
The box truck can be seen hanging out the front window of what appears to be a furniture store.
FMPD is still currently searching for the suspect's vehicle, which fled on Katherine Street going west.
No injuries were reported.
