The Midwest Food Bank is sending a truckload of cleaning supplies and tools to Elizabethtown, North Carolina to help people recover from hurricane Florence.

Since last Wednesday, the food bank collected many wheel barrels, shovels, coolers, generators, buckets, tarps, mops, rags and more to be sent up to North Carolina at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 1st.

According to the National Weather Service, Elizabethtown received the highest amount of rain during Hurricane Florence. They received about 36 inches or three feet of rain.

Karl Steidinger, the Executive Director of the Midwest Food Bank, said "I wasn't surprised to see so many donations from the community because as Floridians, we know what it's like to deal with the aftermath of storms like this."
