Florida Highway Patrol investigating school bus crash in Lehigh Acres

**UPDATE (9:50AM)** -- Troopers have cited the driver of a minivan after crashing into the rear of a Lee County school bus Tuesday morning.

Both drivers were seriously injured in the crash, but no students were aboard at the time.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, both vehicles were headed eastbound on Lee Boulevard at Gunnery Road around 6:10am.  The school bus had stopped for the traffic light, but the van's driver failed to stop in time and crashed into the rear of the bus.

The van's driver, 34-year-old Rochae Castel of Lehigh Acres, was seriously injured and taken to Lehigh Regional for treatment.

The bus's driver, 30-year-old Robert Call of North Fort Myers, was also seriously injured and taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers (FHP) are investigating a crash involving a school bus and a van in Lehigh Acres.

It happened on Gunnery Road and Lee Boulevard. No children were on the bus at the time.

FHP says there are injuries but did not give details on who was hurt or how many people were involved.
