A Flood Watch has been issued for all of Southwest Florida as rounds of rain from a nearby area of low pressure continue to impact the region. A Flood Watch means there is potential for flooding anywhere in the region.

Because the tropical wave will linger for a few days, rain chances will remain above normal through the weekend. Some parts of the region have already seen more than 3 inches of rainfall since Friday morning. An additional 3-5 inches of rain is possible through Sunday, with some locations seeing higher amounts.

Fox 4 has received numerous reports of flooded streets, parking lots and neighborhoods. Expect conditions to worsen with additional rainfall, becoming dangerous on the roadways. Be very careful driving and remember to NEVER drive through flooded streets.

The Flood Watch remains in effect for Glades, Hendry and Collier Counties through Saturday at 8 am. For Lee and Charlotte Counties, the Watch continues through Sunday evening.
