NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. --- Four In Your Corner has obtained video of two thieves stealing a woman’s car in North Fort Myers early Sunday. It was the only car stolen, but it wasn't the only one targeted on Butler Road that morning.

Four other cars were broken into, including the one of a neighbor next door.

It's come as a shock to neighbors who describe the burglaries and car theft as a stark interruption to their tranquil way of life.

“It’s a real nice, family neighborhood”, said Richard Johns. Johns has lived in the area for the past six years and up until now, he never imagined that somebody on his street would be the target of car thieves.

“We all have good people here.”

One of those good people is Richard Rowell. He’s lived on Butler Road for the past 12 years and says he’s gotten to know the neighbors pretty well. He’s known the woman whose car was stolen since she moved onto the street.

“We like to help each other out if we can”, he told Fox 4 earlier in the afternoon. The thieves who stole his neighbors car rummaged through Richard’s car first. They left his glove compartment open and his car door open when they didn’t find what they were looking for. Since his neighbor had her car stolen, he’s been lending her one of his cars so she can get around.

Other neighbors Four In Your Corner spoke with are now nervous about their street and some are even planning to get security cameras for themselves.
