A hotel in Estero was evacuated for several hours Friday morning after a small fire and gas leak.
It happened just after 6 a.m. at the Hampton Inn on Chevrolet Way near Gulf Coast Town Center. Witnesses say they saw flames coming from a gas line and had to evacuate the building. The gas line was shut off and there was no damage to the building.
Guests were removed from the property as crews fixed the problem. The hotel was re-opened just after 11 a.m.
