The Sheriff's Office offered the following statement on Wednesday, November 18th, about where it stands in the search for the predator:

Since we advised the community last week about an attempted kidnapping and three similar incidents in Naples Park one additional person has come forward to report another suspicious incident that is similar to the others.

Deputies are continuing to investigate each of these incidents. We have increased patrols in the area and we have distributed flyers with the composite to businesses. We are also working with law enforcement in surrounding areas.

The newest report involves a woman who was walking in the area of 91st Avenue North between 6th Street North and Vanderbilt Drive at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10 when a man in a minivan stopped, opened his door, exited the vehicle and asked if she had seen his lost beagle. The woman said she backed away from the man and told him she would call the number on the dog’s tag if she encountered it. The man got back in the minivan and left.

The woman saw the composite accompanying an earlier media release regarding the attempted kidnapping and recognized him as the same individual. She described the minivan as brownish-gold with dark tinted windows.

The other incidents are as follows:

On Monday, Nov. 9, between 5 and 6 p.m. a woman was walking her dog in the area of Vanderbilt Drive and 94th Avenue North when she was approached by a man in a gray van who asked her to help him look for his lost dog. She declined to assist him and he drove away.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, at about 4:30 p.m. a woman was walking on the 700 block of 101st Avenue North when she was approached by a man driving a dark gray van who asked her to help him look for his friend’s beagle. She declined to assist and he drove away.

On Tuesday, Nov. 10, at around 6:30 p.m. a jogger was approached by a gold-colored minivan on the 500 block of 104th Avenue North. He asked her to help him and his children look for a lost dog. She declined and reported the encounter to CCSO.

On Nov. 10 at about 7:30 p.m. a jogger was running on 6th Street North between 98th Avenue North and 97th Avenue North when a man driving an older gray van grabbed her and held her in his van briefly until she was able to flee.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 30s with a buzzcut hairstyle and facial stubble. He is 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs between 190 and 210 pounds. Three of the subjects told deputies that the vehicle involved was a dark gray van with tinted windows. One subject told deputies the van was gold.
