FHP plans DUI operations New Year's Eve in Collier and Lee counties

LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- While Southwest Floridians head out to celebrate the new year Tuesday night, state troopers will be on the job working to keep drunk drivers off the roads.

Florida Highway Patrol says the will launch their DUI Wolfpack Operation in Lee and Collier counties beginning at 9 p.m. until 4 a.m.

Troopers will be focusing on Interstate 75 and major state and county roadways.

They remind citizens that driving impaired from alcohol or drugs put everyone on the roadways in danger.

Florida law considers a driver with .08 or higher Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) to be impaired. Drivers under the age of 21 with a BAC of .02 or higher are also in violation of Florida law.
