FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Florida Gulf Coast University will break ground on the new building for their Water School Thursday morning.
The Water School was established in March. It focuses on the environmental sciences, and draws in the social sciences, health sciences, business, and engineering. Researchers and students within the school are dedicated to better understanding some of our toughest water quality issues.
Academic Building Number Nine will be the Water School's own facility. Once it's built, it will be the largest academic building to date on the FGCU campus.
The groundbreaking will be at 10 a.m. Thursday. State leaders such as Sen. Lizbeth Benacquisto and Rep. Ray Rodrigues are expected in attendance.
