FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Troopers are investigating a fatal crash on Three Oaks Parkway involving a motorcyclist Friday morning.

It happened just before 9 a.m. at the intersection with Roundstone Circle, south of Alico Road.

Troopers say a 22-year-old Naples man died in the crash. They have not released his name yet.

According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of an SUV was westbound on Roundstone, and after stopping at the stop sign, pulled out to turn left just as the motorcyclist was approaching northbound.

The motorcyclist leaned left to try to avoid the SUV, but struck the vehicle's left rear fender. The rider came to a rest in the roadway, and his motorcycle stopped in the median down the road.

As of 1:30 pm, the northbound lanes of Three Oaks were closed to traffic.

We'll update as more details are confirmed.
