MAYPORT, Fla. — A Fort Myers native is keeping the Navy's newest, most advanced helicopters flying.
Petty Officer Second Class Cory Holt graduated from East Lee County High School in 2012.
He is serving a Navy helicopter squadron based in Mayport.
Holt operates the most capable multi-mission helicopter available in the world today.
It is used for hunting and tracking enemy submarines, attacking enemy ships, search and rescue, drug interdiction and delivering supplies.
Holt credits much of his success from lessons he learned growing up in Fort Myers.
He says he wanted a career where he could be near the water.
