LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. -- Lee County deputies are working to figure out what led up to a man being found dead on the side of a Lehigh Acres road Tuesday night.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has ruled this homicide.
It happened in a very remote area off of State Road 82, near the intersection of Sparta Avenue and Scottsdale Street.
There are just a few homes around.
Wednesday morning, investigators had a wooded area and dirt road blocked off as they continue to investigate the man's death.
Right now, we don't know who's responsible for killing this man or how he exactly died. At this time, the sheriff's office has not released more details on the investigation.
We are pressing deputies with questions to try to get more answers.
This is the third homicide in Lehigh Acres this month.
On April 7th, deputies say a self-employed taxi driver was robbed and killed by 20-year-old Ricky Ligonde.
Then on April 14th, a man and woman were stabbed by a family friend. 47-year-old Tara Binkley died from her wounds, and 26-year-old Michael Swisher was arrested for murder.
