FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.-- Someone filed a complaint against the Town of Fort Myers Beach, which could lead to delays in construction for the new Margaritaville Resort.

The person who filed the complaint lives less than 2,000 ft. from the resort location. The complaint says the town broke its own zoning laws. It goes on to say the new resort will cause even more traffic troubles and be too loud.

Four in your corner reached out to the resort's developer, TPI Hospitality, who released this statement:

"The complaints were filed against the town, not Margaritaville, so we are still in a holding pattern, waiting to hear back from the town and town attorneys about options on how to proceed. It would not be unreasonable though to conclude that there will be some adjustments to the previously proposed timeline. Until we know more, we are now anticipating about a 6-month delay in demolition and/or construction."
