FORT MYERS, Fla. — Next Monday, the City of Fort Myers is expected to take more samples of the groundwater at the sludge site, in Dunbar.

The results from last month's testing haven't been released yet. We're still waiting on the Department of Environmental Protection to confirm all the lime is gone.

The city is checking the site for safety and conformity for a proposed recreational park. Then, they will test the top two feet above the water table.

Any water left after the project is completed, will be used as a stormwater management area or filled to create a larger park area.
