LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- Two children were taken to the hospital Tuesday and two arrests were made after the kids were found inside a hot car outside a doctor’s office in Fort Myers.

It happened outside First Choice Kid Care Pediatrics on South Tamiami Trail in Fort Myers.

Lee County deputies say 27-year-old Hilberto Domingo Gaspar-Miguel and a 17-year-old female were seen on video surveillance leaving the children in the car at 1:15pm with no engine running and the windows half open.

An hour and 16 minutes later, one child opened the door and climbed out.  Six minutes later, office staff rushed out to remove the 2nd child from the car.

The children were taken to Golisano Children’s Hospital, where they were treated for dehydration and heat exhaustion and released to the care of DCF.

Gaspar-Miguel and the female were charged with Child Neglect.
