Charlotte County man arrested, drugs and guns seized

A Charlotte County man is behind bars on numerous charges after deputies raided his home Friday morning.

Investigators say they seized four illegal guns after serving a search warrant at a home on Kennwood Terrace NW in Port Charlotte.

The suspect, 28-year-old Wayman Kennedy, is now charged with Possession of a Firearm by Florida Convicted Felon, Possession of Ammunition by Florida Convicted Felon, Trafficking In Cocaine, Possession of a Controlled Substance Without Prescription, Possession of Marijuana Less Than 20 Grams, Maintaining a Nuisance Dwelling, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Wayman Kennedy was transported to the Charlotte County Jail.

He was previously arrested for a home invasion robbery and was released from prison in March 2013 after serving a six-year sentence in the Florida Department of Corrections.
