A 4 acre brush fire in a wooded area is sending smoke billowing across the southwestern corner of Cape Coral Saturday morning.
The fire started early Saturday in a densely wooded area just north of Pine Island Road near El Dorado Parkway. No homes are threatened, but smoke is billowing south from the fire and spreading across the southwestern corner of Cape Coral along Surfside Boulevard.
Fire crews have made a containment line around the brush where it will be allowed to burn under supervision.
No word yet on what might have caused it to spark. We have reached out to the Cape Coral Fire Department for more details.
