CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A local hair salon is giving back to those who served our country by offering free haircuts.
“We celebrate people who entertain us, whether it’s sports or movies and these people put their lives on the line everyday, it’s the least we can do is offer them a free haircut," said Robert King, owner, Somewhere on 47th Terrace Hair Salon.
Robert and his wife Kelly have owned the full service salon, Somewhere on 47th Terrace, since February 2019.
“We just want to take care of people and make them feel good about themselves, and when they leave here feel like they have a worth and a value,” said Kelly King, owner, Somewhere on 47th Terrace Hair Salon.
It's been three weeks since the salon launched free haircuts for vets with the help of the Veteran's Affairs in Cape Coral.
“There’s a bond between veterans, like I said I served a long time ago, every marine is your brother, I could see someone that’s 95 years old and there’s an instant connection,” said King.
