FORT MYERS, Fla. — Byron Donalds plans to object to the electoral vote certification on Jan. 6, according to a recent Facebook post.
"Every Floridian and American deserves to believe that our elections result from a transparent and lawful democratic process. I will object to the certification process on January 6th and will ask legitimate questions to restore faith in our election system," Donalds said in the post.

Donalds is the first black Republican to hold the 19th Congressional District seat and will be sworn in Jan. 3.
